Applicants
- Must be age 62+ or a disabled adult.
Wait List
- Applications are accepted only when the Wait List is open.
- Based on the current list, it is not expected to open this year or next.
- You cannot apply before the Wait List opens.
- Shelton residency (or CT residency) does not provide priority.
- Applicants may decline a unit. 1st time on the bottom of the waitlist. 2nd time, removed.
Income & Screening Requirements
- One-person household: maximum annual income $63,700.
- Two-person household: maximum annual income $72,800.
- Income limits are based on HUD 2025 guidelines for Shelton and are updated annually.
- All applicants are screened for criminal history and the sex offender registry.
Rent
- Rent is income-based, and all residents must pay the base rent.
- Base rent at Sinsabaugh Heights is $900 per month. Base rent at Helen Devaux is $750 per month.
- Some residents pay more than the base rent since rent is based on income.
