BRIDGEPORT AVENUE NOTIFICATION

The City of Shelton’s WPCA office, with strong support and vision from Mayor Mark Lauretti, will be refurbishing a major sanitary sewer main on Bridgeport Avenue.  Construction work begins Monday November 15th through December 31st, 2021 weather permitting.  The scope of work is from Nells Rock Road at Bridgeport Avenue, along Old Bridgeport Avenue to Cots Street, back onto Bridgeport Avenue, continuing to the intersection of John Street where it will end.  Residences and businesses will be informed when they need to limit waste water between a specific span of hours.  Traffic may initially be diverted at the Nells Rock Road/Bridgeport Avenue intersection, and there may be a lane closure north of Cots Street on Bridgeport Avenue to John Street.  The refurbishing of this pipeline is essential to Shelton’s infrastructure.  Weather permitting the work should be completed within five weeks’ time.  The WPCA Office will continue to inform the public through various communications.  Our sincere thanks to the community for their patience and understanding during this time.
