8/8/020 - Since Tropical Storm Isaias hit on Tuesday, United Illuminating and City personnel have been working on de-energizing and clearing roads. Due to the extensive damage caused by the storm, the level of repairs are significant. As of 8/6/20, repairs and restoration started in the City. U.I. has informed us that the majority of residents will be restored by Saturday night. At the height of the event, approx. 12,000 city businesses and residents were without power. As of 9 AM today, the number restored is approx. 9,200. Please go to www.uinet.com and click Outages to look at the changes of outage numbers for Shelton and the region. Shelton Mayor Mark A. Lauretti, with the consent and cooperation of Post 16, American Legion and VFW Post 10466, is pleased to announce the appointment of William “Bill” Kozak, Jr. as the City of Shelton Veteran’s Service Contact Person (VSCP).

Kozak is charged with helping veterans and their dependents with reemployment, rehabilitation, education and adjustment to peacetime living.  “Bill” is a U. S. Air Force veteran.  He is a 31 year American legion member and has served for over 10 years as the Post 16 Service Officer.
